Should car racing be considered an athletic sport, if the car does most of the work?

Same question, but horse racing or horse dancing (which I believe is an Olympic sport), should these be considered an athletic sport (for human's) when the horse does most the work?

I've never been much of a fan of either of them sports but as long as bowling is considered a sport these stay in the sports category.

@Lostpoet Yeah, but not athletic sport... I've come to terms with a sport is anything you can bet on, and you can literally bet on anything and everything including betting...

So as long as two or more people are competing, it's a sport...

But I still don't want to count it when most of the work is being done by a non-human...
