They'll appeal. It'll take half a season to sort. They'll go on to make money from the competition even if unsuccessful. And if they cost any legally abiding team a place in the latter stages, we and they will say the system favours the bigger clubs no matter how many rules they break !

@Picklebobble2 Chelsea did get a transfer ban. I think City are in serious trouble.

If it also means they have to now comply with rules and get no champ league revenue, they will have to sell players.

@Burnley123 we will see how good a manager Pep is if he has to sell and work with youth and bring them on

@Nyloncapes Indeed. If City can't get out of this, would he even stay?
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
@Burnley123 interesting point , could be his excuse to get out

@Nyloncapes I think this is the beginning of the end for their golden era. This season could be their last chance to win the champions league.

@Burnley123 yes if pep goes the big stars will follow and not stay, don't think they will win champions League this year, there defence has always been suspect, do you think Liverpool could dominate for next few years with klopp
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Nyloncapes they could but I don't think City will collapse overnight. If this ruling goes through, it'll take a season or so to weaken them.

Also, another challenger could emerge.

@Burnley123 can not see arsenal spurs or man utd challenging for title for years so far behind , Chelsea under lampard look like they are going in right direction with him

@Burnley123 Can't see it happening. I mean it SHOULD ! And Man.City, of ALL clubs MUST know the rules and the possible consequences.....but that'll be a large slice of cash missing from the competition if they go.

@Nyloncapes Man United are also kind of going in the right direction with a better transfer policy. They need a better coach. I agree that Chelsea look best placed to improve in the next two years.

@Picklebobble2 This is good stuff from David Conn. It looks like City showed arrogant contempt for the rules and their emails were probably hacked by an ex employee.
