Any NFL rules experts here???

Watching the highlights of the end of the Bengals/Bills game and I can't quite figure out what the rule is. The Bills defensive player intercepted the pass, falls to the ground, gets up untouched by any Bengals player, and runs into and out the side of his own end zone celebrating... Everyone acts like it's a dead ball or something, but shouldn't that be a safety or a touchback or something?

I will have to watch that tomorrow on game pass.My inclination is that once he went to the ground the play was over although if he was untouched that doesn't sound right.I am no expert!I was watching the Packers.

The officials said he gave himself up. Like taking a knee.
I thought it would be w touchback.

@Blue42 Sounds like kind of making up the rules as they go along. :(

I was waiting for the Bengals to throw a challenge flag and demand a touchback and the ball.

@ChipmunkErnie yes it does. But the NFL so inconsistent with the rules anymore.
