@jimmypopp NZ do have reputation, from what i read, for pushing every rugby law to limit... and beyond. most referees seem to let them get away with it. when they come up against a strict ref, they are not so effective. 🙂

@Yulianna sorry to say that on this occasion, he made some wrong and poor decisions. It is sad when the referee wins a game rather than the players.

@jimmypopp i agree with that - i do not know details of game you refer to, before i became interested in rugby 🙂

@Yulianna Wayne Barnes is a good ref.Doesn't do to get on the wrong side of him early in the game though.You get better games with Nigel Owens though.

@Yulianna he lets the game flow because he doesn't think the crowd are there to watch him.He reffed Newport v Cardiff last season .We lost but he was brilliant.Don't forget the RWC thread in I love rugby

@Yulianna I hate games where the ref is looking for reasons to blow up.The good ones look for reasons not to blow.

@Yuliannayes it is.In fifty years of watching rugby I have never seen a good game with a whistle happy ref.If the crowd are getting annoyed it's the refs fault.
