I have completed 13 marathons, and too many 1/2's 10k's etc to count. One 50mile ultra. I will be competing in the Senior Olympics in Albuquerque,NM in June of this year. It took me 10 years to qualfy. I've been running 46 years now. So I know I can possibly give you some solid advice. How long have you been running consistently?

@RenaissanceMan about 6 months. Right now I’m averaging about 40 miles a week with one long run a week
@Lindaisfun That is adequate for a marathon. How long is your long run?
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@RenaissanceMan myongneuns are usually about 15 miles or so. I ran a 3/4 marathon last week. The marathon is in 3 weeks
@Lindaisfun oh...you're close!
Have you started to taper yet?
Lindaisfun · 26-30, F
@RenaissanceMan not really. Should I?
@Lindaisfun Yes! Running is 90% mental. Endurance comes from Resting after running, not Running. What is your resting heartrate?

Like 62. Around there
@Lindaisfun That's average. Better than most though. As you get fitter it will get lower. Mine is always between 42-45bpm. I'm Chronologically 60 years old but my physiology is at 34years old. I look it and feel it. Your mental state is everything!
I will PM my email address and you can ask all the questions you want. I will walk you through the whole process up too the morning of the marathon. [image deleted]
