Do you like Tim Vickery?

He is my favourite football pundit. He's a Brit based in South America who writes for various publications and appears on podcasts. His analysis is always spot on.

Here is his analysis of Argentina's problems.

I didn't know who he was but must confess, I gave up following premiership football about 30 years ago. Hence I avoid everything football at this level and am not really qualified to comment. I know diddly squat.

The journalist clearly knows his stuff and it was interesting to note the comments about Argentina reducing funding for youth development.

Occasionally go and watch my local Sutton United play. I can see that you are really into your footie and admire your appreceation of good journalism.

I'm enjoying the World Cup but don't hold out much hope for England. Whenever I watch England play it always seems we only have a couple of players who have that passion to play confidently well. The rest just seem to dither on the ball and play safe, square and backwards.

As far as Argentina are concerned, I guess it's back to the drawing board for them, just like it usually is for us.

I'll be watching patriotically at 1300 and, for those 90 mins, will become an expert football pundit on the edge of my chair, screaming at the TV, sipping on a cool beer.
