Ronaldo always had empty space ahead of him in this tournament. Messi has been surrounded by a swarm of players. Plus, he tries to play tiki-taka and none of his teammate can keep up with that.

Some people have such graceful flowing movements. They can make falling downstairs look like ballet. Others don't have the same flowing movements, so, although they are just as capable of falling downstairs, it looks as painful as it is.

ronaldo has more style and flair, messi is more of dribbler like text book style. you cannot compare them, but they both are amazing as they have scored more than 600 goals and 200 assists.

He is on better form right now but I think over the long haul, Messi has been better. Slightly.
