No, I'm American

@Roflcash4 Don't the Americans follow the World Cup? If not, why not?
Roflcash4 · 26-30, M
@NankerPhelge Some Americans do follow it, most don't follow soccer at all. And the USA not being in the World Cup definitely doesn't entice any of us to watch it very closely. And from a cultural standpoint, soccer isn't really a big part of American culture as far as male sports goes. Our best male athletes go into the sports of basketball, baseball, and American football because I think we see those sports as more masculine. We kinda view soccer as a (no disrespect intended) women's sport because our best female athletes usually play soccer, which is probably why our women's national team is very good and has placed in the top three of every world cup since 1991. But like I said earlier, American football, basketball, and baseball (and ice hockey, especially in the Northern parts of the US) have the most influence and are what dominate sports media in the US.

@Roflcash4 Why don't the USA enter into it? It is, after all, the World Cup. I thought the Americans liked to be involved in everything.

@NankerPhelge Not when it involves Russia lol
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Roflcash4 That's stupid and childish.

@NankerPhelge What is?
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@Roflcash4 All that silly one-upmanship between America and Russia. It's been going on since I was a child. Even then I used to think it was immature behaviour.
