What do you make of England's performance?

First half was 9 out of 10 and 6 in the second half. Overall, it's a 7.5. Should have won by more against a weak team. Also, the ref allowed a lot of Tunisian gamesmanship, including two good penalty appeals.

I generally like what Southgate is doing. The team has a good balance and look dangerous going forward. Our defense is still potentially rocky and could be exposed against better teams. Also, the transition between defense and attack was too slow in the second half.

I think Southgate should have brought subs on earlier to improve that transition. Alli was injured and Lingard was also out of it in the second half. Who should start the next game? Did Rashford do enough?

We got over the line which was the vital thing. Performance wise though not a lot. Boring game no invention. Can’t see us going very far tbh.

@Supesun My pre-tournament expectations were last 16/quarters. Some of the big teams struggled but have better players than us and Spain look really good. England are not contenders to win and never have been. Quarter Final would be a minor success and Semi-final would be a big success.

@Supesun All we have to do is not lose to Panama. I think that is pretty safe. Belgium will be an interesting test.

Yeah we won’t beat Belgium but even a draw against Panama should take us through in 2nd. Then we get knocked up in the next round and cone home. Fairly standard stuff really.

@Supesun LOL. I think it's looking a bit better at previous tournaments. Southgate is doing well. We don't have the players to win it but we could go deep into the contest.
