Personally.....Not sure.
Oh sure. Many a gifted player has played in England. As have much lauded foreign managers. But it's been to the detriment of developing English footballers.....and managers come to that !
The other thing is money.
I'm sure it's a thing whichever European league you look at. But costs for making the national game largely 'exclusive' via ticket prices or pay-per-view or contracted cable/satellite services, have largely priced the average supporter out of the game.
Add to that the ridiculous prices for replica shirts on sale everywhere and the truly stupid valuations of some pretty mediocre players (Trust me on this. I'm a Spurs fan and i know mediocre !)mean that it's not the game i grew up loving.
