think again!
so after yuzuru hanyu won the olympic gold medal last night (or early this morning, for me), i haven't been to get out of my mind the first time i saw him perform his winning program. he originally performed seimei in the 2015-2016 season, and at nhk trophy he set the world record for the free program. i sat up that night to watch the competition, and it was early morning by the time yuzuru skated. because i'm a complete crybaby, his performance brought me to tears. i remember thinking i'd just watched history being made, and very likely, the greatest skater of all time perform at his absolute best.
two weeks later he broke his own world record at the grand prix final, but i still feel like the performance at nhk trophy is his best performance ever.
