Do you somehow think there is probably some other news topics about the US that would probably be of bigger importance regarding laws and politics... and this is being used as a way to distract the masses?

Rather than manifesting a huge importance over sports and whether or not somehow ritualistically demonstrates honor in equal manner as others (why not investigate other current issues that affect the nation as a whole)?
