The Spiritual Seal of the Holy Spirit Represents a Finished Transaction for Believers in Christ

How does the Holy Spirit present Himself in our lives?

There are many ways that the Holy Spirit works in the lives of all who accept Jesus as their Savior, but they all share one common goal:to be more like Jesus Christ. He works in believers by transforming and renewing their minds to have the mind of Christ. As for unbelievers, the Holy Spirit transforms hearts and lives, by convicting us of sin and leading us to repentance and a brand new life in Christ.

The following is one of my favorite verses of all time. This is what it means to be "Sealed by the Holy Spirit", after you have accepted Jesus as your personal Savior:

"And now you have heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, He identified you as His own, by giving you the Holy Spirit to dwell in you, whom He promised long ago." Eph 1:13

Those who have turned from their sins and committed their lives to Christ, are sealed by the Holy Spirit of God. God establishes a relationship with us that's so close, His Spirit unites with ours, and we become "one with Him" in Spirit. He lives in us, and we live in Him.

The Person of the Holy Spirit, IS our Seal of Salvation

A spiritual "seal" is an identifying mark that any who come to Jesus by faith and receive him as their personal Savior, are God's own and are part of His family.

A seal indicates ownership. You don't place your seal on something that does not belong to you. Just as a brand on cattle distinguishes one farmer's cows from the other farmer's cows, a seal separates one's belongings. A seal indicates that God has distinguished us from others; that after we were saved, He has set us apart to Himself.

A seal indicates something of worth. You do not seal just anything and everything. Only those things which are important, or of value to you. Therefore, being sealed by God's Holy Spirit, indicates that we are highly valued by God; we are very important to Him.

A seal indicates authenticity. A seal is recognized and accepted by anyone. It is a guarantee by the person doing the sealing, that whatever has been sealed, meets their criteria, or is up to their standards. It guarantees that what is sealed, is the real thing.

All authority in heaven and earth is given to Christ Jesus.

A seal is a sign of higher authority. When we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, it indicates that we are His, and He can be trusted.

A seal shows the irrevocable nature of our salvation. We did not place it there...God did. Once something is sealed, it will stay forever. We cannot break the seal of the Holy Spirit, however...we can grieve the Spirit, we can quench the Spirit, but we cannot break the seal of the Holy Spirit, God placed within us. If the seal God placed in us could be broken, that would make God a liar, but he is without sin, and God will never break his promise to save us and give us eternal life in heaven. John 3:16-17 After all...as His child, it was God who saved us, and it is God who keeps us saved, per His promise.

Hebrews 13:5: "He Himself has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you'"

Deuteronomy 31:6-8: "Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you'"

In a world that is constantly changing, God never changes, and He will never leave you nor abandon you. He's no liar.

1 John 5:5 states, "And you know that He came to take away our sins; and in Him is no sin".

Think of canning jars of fresh, ripe fruit. The seal preserves the fruit by keeping in what you want to keep in, and keeping out, the harmful bacteria that will cause the fruit to ruin. The seal protects the fruit: nothing else can get inside, and nothing that is inside, is getting out. We are told that when we are "born again", we are sealed by the Holy Spirit, unto the day of redemption. The fruit in the jars cannot break the seal. Neither can we break the seal of God's Holy Spirit.
What a great explanation of the Holy Spirit and the meaning of the seal!

@LadyGrace I'm glad you enjoyed the song. The choir at my Church performed it during Pentecost Sunday.
