A Poem About My Nighttime Walk To The Park

The Moon Casts A Malevolent Glow

Lucid Beams Upon A Cloudy Sea

I Walk To A Place Where None Shall Go

At A Nightly Hour With Desire And Fright

The Unliving Reap What They Sow

Dark Spirits See My Black Fire In The Night

To Them I Am The Carcass And They The Crow

That is beautiful and disturbing.

Why do you think of the moon as malevolent?
QueenOfZaun · 26-30, F
@SW-User I don’t. I love the Moon. A lot. The moonlight looked malevolent from where I was sitting.

Maybe it was the clouds?

I've been to the desert on moonless nights. Even though the star show was absolutely lovely, the total darkness felt gloomy in all senses of the word.

One night I was there when it was a full moon. There was no other source of light besides it. It was absolutely gorgeous. I felt very much at peace. In the city I don't get to appreciate the moon like that.
