Growing up like many, my Dad was very verbally abusive. It was due to PTSD being a Prisoner of war.
In his later years he conquered all his addictions (prescriptions and alcohol), we became very close and he considered me his only friend that he had, and said, "he wished he'd spent more time with me when I was younger.
