"Brahma satyam jagat mithya jivo brahmaiva naparah"
Brahman (the ultimate reality) is real, the world is unreal (or an illusion), and the individual self is not different from Brahman.
Advaita Vedanta, through this shloka, emphasizes that the only true reality is Brahman, and the world we perceive is an illusion, a temporary manifestation of Brahman. The individual self, in its true nature, is not separate from Brahman.
