Very true, Job was well blessed for persevering. At least I have a firm belief in the existence of God and the love of Jesus. Those things keep me hanging on during those times when there's nothing else.

Perhaps I feel entitled to certain things, and I get angry at God when I feel like those things are threatened. I really want to love God and be able to experience joy in the midst of suffering, but I haven't figured out how to do those things yet. Have you learned how yet?

In the midst of suffering you have to cleave to God with all your might. You also have to tell yourself this won't last, this too shall pass. It's hard to do, I know. I've failed before at it. But you have to think of the good things and be grateful for what you do have and not think about what you don't have. That has gotten me through a lot of tough times. Tough times never last but tough people do, remember that! Also a sense of humor helps me as well lol.

@Brenton. Look at Job in the Bible and how he was tested and how truly horrible his life was and he overcame it and his faith was stronger than ever. God blessed him beyond measure. You just have to have faith, even as small as a mustard seed. Never give up because God doesn't give up on you. I went through a period like you did where I was angry and that is the first thing we usually do is blame God when something goes wrong and say "Why me?" but you have to know that God doesn't will bad things for us, but God wills something good out of the bad things that happen to us in the end.

I'll tell Him that despite my feelings,I followed him in faith and did the best that I could. Then I'll ask why life had to be the way it was.

I suppose that it's encouraging that many of the prophets felt anger or frustration towards God at one point or another. At least God never seems to have held it against them; Perhaps He'll regard me in the same way...

Yes. I do believe that you are right. After all, why would Jesus go through such suffering if it were not necessary for our salvation?

Although that is under the assumption that the Bible does not lie. I'm a very skeptical person, and taking things on trust does not come easy for me. I find it very difficult not to question God's sovreignty or His motives...

I am a Christian who tries to live for God as much as I can, but unfortunately, there is no joy in it for me. I have too many hard feelings towards God, and I rarely feel anything more than resentment towards Him. I would really like to change that, but so far, it has been impossible. I've been praying for a change of heart for years now...
