The Book of Ecclesiastes

My favourite part of the Bible, because the author of it (believed to be none other than King Solomon himself) confronts some rather uncomfortable truths that most people would just rather ignore. Within the book he is honest, direct and not afraid to say what needs to be said, and it's unfortunate that most Christians tend to ignore this book entirely when forming their theology.

What do you take Ecclesiastes 9:5 to mean?
@LadyGrace That there is nothing after death, that we just cease to be.
@Bellatrix2083 God did not give us life for it just to cease to exist after we die. Our spirit lives on. That's in God's Word and he's no liar.
@LadyGrace Ecclesiastes says otherwise.
@Bellatrix2083 I have studied Ecclesiastes thoroughly with much Bible study and discussion. The pastor agrees with what I have said. But if you don't get that out of it it's okay. Oh I see what you mean, sorry. I thought you was talking about my other post that I wrote about Ecclesiastes here but you're talking about life after death. You don't understand Ecclesiastes. I explained it in my other post. He changed his mind at the end of his speech.
