A Pondering Thought

What does "Made in the image of God" mean?
What IS our likeness that is of God's?
Huh .... 🤔

It's the other way around. We created God in our own image.

we've shaped our understanding of God to be more relatable and familiar by giving it human-like qualities. It's like saying we've painted a picture of the divine using the colors of our own experiences and emotions.

When we think about it, it makes sense. Human beings have this natural inclination to relate to things that are understandable and relatable. So, it's almost like we've created a bridge between the unknown and our own lives by envisioning God with traits and characteristics we can grasp.

@Renkon So why did we not make his main traits selfishness, lust and greed?

@SW-User May be we see them as bad traits and God being the embodiment of Goodness we envisioned divinity with God traits like Love, Kindness etc.

@Renkon The Greek gods did not have the traits of goodness, nor did the Roman pantheon.
