@Elessar Good argument with regard to parasites, and one life form living off another.

When it comes to us people preying on each other in relationships, as well as, financially, we really know not what we do. In that regard, we behave exactly like those microscopic parasites: selfish.

Is Stephen Fry right about God? No. He is venting on a scapegoat that doesn't exist. So, who do we blame if God doesn't exist? Can Fry then say: "How dare you create a world where there is so much misery that is not our fault?" He obviously can't. We created the world of human beings living in society. Whose fault is it for the misery we cause each other?

@sree251 The point is, if God was all good and all loving, and everything was created by Him, why making it with parasites? It's the good ol' Epicurean paradox, either He's not all-good or He's not all-powerful.

If we were allegedly made "in his image", and we behave like parasites, it means he specifically intended for us to act like this, and possibly that he would behave the same.

Hence, in the ending, why should such a God be worth worshiping? I don't think Fry is actually blaming him, he's responding to someone who specifically asked what he'd said if he was to appear in front of Him one day. It's a purely hypothetical monologue.

@Elessar Hypothetical. Truth is not a hypothesis. We are not a hypothesis. We are living truth. Let's focus on what we are, find out what that is first. Venting ourselves on hypotheticals isn't smart. Therefore, Fry is participating in an inane dialogue.

@sree251 No, the moment you're asked "what would you say to God if you were to meet him", you're 100% in the field of hypotheses. Everything is based on hypotheses, religion itself is built on an hypothesis.

And again, Fry answered to someone who made a hypothesis.Complain with the interviewer if you don't like his hypothesis, not Fry who merely answered.

@sree251 there still remains no empirical evidence for the Abrahamic God. This is where the problem comes in. We have no evidence that there is or isn't a God. Just that we are here.

@basilfawlty89 God exists but not Abrahaimic. Jesus has been misunderstood. He was not promoting Judaism but his own message of truth, and that is why they killed him for apostasy. Though born a Jew, Jesus was an apostate. Christianity is not an Abrahaimic faith. Islam is an Abrahaimic religion.

@Elessar The interviewer was an idiot. Fry should have known better. Engaging an idiot made him one too.
