The doomed love of orpheus and eurydice

Son of Apollo ,god of music and poetry ,he was similarly gifted as his father and able to charm the love of his life ,a nymph, while hearing him play. They soon after married but their union was never blessed by Hymen ,god of marriage ,who foreshadowed their tragic ending. Eurydikes beauty triggered another gods love and jealousy for her,who would try to abduct her,only for her to be bit by a venomous snake in a frantic attempt to escape him. Orpheus found his wife right as she was dying and sang to her for the last time. Overwhelmed with grief ,he snuck into the underworld to retrieve his dead wife by lullabying cerberus with a song and playing the most beautiful melody he had played in his entire life for Hades . Hades agreed to give him back Eurydike under the condition that he would not look at her until they were outside the darkness of the underworld. As soon as orpheus stepped into the light,unable to contain his excitment ,he looked immidiately back to eurydike,only to find out that she was still covered by the shadow of hades underworld,and so he lost her forever.

@Rolexeo
He’s killed later by a mob of Dionysus’s followers, who tear him apart
@Rolexeo there are a few different stories about his death,one that he was cut in pieces by meanads and others claiming that he commited suicide out of his grief for losing eurydice. Im not sure if they are reunited again after his death
