What is the etiquette behind leaving food offerings to Demons/Gods?

So I’ve done some reading. So example, White Chocolate with raisins have been an offering for Sitri.

Do demons eat chocolate? Does he take it with him? Can Demons eat people food?

If not, can I eat it? Or is that considered disrespectful? It seems senseless to let food go to waste.

That’s why I think lighting incense and drawing their sigil in my blood is the way to go.

I guess.

In the Philippines the people fear DEMONIOS (Demons). Especially pregnant women.

So all the "Expats" (and the locals) living there with their wives/girlfriends are always placing multiple cloves of garlic on the windowsills to ward off these demons that are there to sneak through the windows and steal the babies from the pregnant women's stomachs.

I lived there 5 years.

Do you know that I never had to buy a single clove of garlic?
