We're all going some place when we die. Where will that be? Wherever you decide.

[c=008099]Jesus didn't leave us to guess. He told us our soul never dies. He said it ends up in one of two places, for eternity, and we get to decide which place that is. God doesn't make that choice for us.

It's so simple, some miss it altogether. God spelled it out for us, in His Word.

Jesus said we all have a sinful nature, and sin is the ONLY thing that condemns us and keeps us separated from God and heaven. It only makes sense that heaven wouldn't be heaven, if we dragged our sins in with us.

Jesus said, "Come to Me in prayer, if you love, and long to be with God for eternity. I will forgive your sins, so they no longer condemn you nor keep you separated from your Heavenly Father. I will see that you are forgiven and kept eternally secure by My grace, and through your faith in Me."

Why do we make that to be something hard to do, when it is so very simple? God is no liar. He loves you beyond all human understanding and wants you to be with Him in heaven. However, if you leave your soul's destiny to chance, sin will keep you forever separated from God. So you can see just how important it is, to prepare for the afterlife, right now. [/c]

Our body is part of the earth and goes back to the earth. Our spirit is part of the energy of the earth, the solar system and the universe as we know it, and it goes back to that. You can choose to call the 'energy' of the universe a 'collective consciousness' of a sort, but it's not God or whatever as those are fully man-made creations to explain what cannot be explained (yet) by science.
@butterflybaby75 It is what God says it is and not one thing more. Your description doesn't match up with what God said in His Word. He said our body goes back to dust, UNTIL resurrection day, when it resurrects and reunites with our own spirit, whichever place it went to. Jesus said so. I believe Him, over man-made philosophies, any day.

@LadyGrace God is not Word, nor Law. God is a mad-made creation to personify things humans do not understand or comprehend. When a person dies, their physical 'meat body' decays back to become part of the earth again. The 'energy' that embodied that which deemed a human as a 'sentient being' just goes back to being 'free energy'.
@butterflybaby75 If anyone would know what happens after we die and where we go, it would be our Creator. Man nor science just isn't that smart, nor wiser than God. He told us exactly what happens and proved it by His own resurrection so we could see exactly what happens after we die, in front of over 500 witnesses.
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@LadyGrace A biological being as soon as death occurs starts to physically decay from the actions of bacteria. God is a man-made creation 100 pct. There has never been any scientifically provable 'resurrection' in the way the so-called Bible claims it occured.
@butterflybaby75 And science is not above God. If nothing else, it confirms Him. Science cannot even compare to God.
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@LadyGrace God is created by man, therefore God is fallable. God is a thing - science is reality.
@butterflybaby75 So you're saying over 500 people were delusional? Hardly. It's just the opposite. God created us. You wouldn't be here, if it wasn't for your Creator. Whomever is teaching you, is not smarter than God. And though you choose not to believe, that doesn't change Him or who He is.
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@LadyGrace You presume 'god' created us - nobody knows. We are not smart/intelligent enough to know. There is no dispute what happens to the body of any animal (which include humans - we are animals too - mammals) when it dies and the bacteria break down the body and it returns to being part of the earth from which all the materials to make it came. As for the spirit, that's 'energy'. Energy cannot be created or destroyed - it can only be transformed from one form to another and every time energy tranforms there are losses.
@butterflybaby75 God is created by man? So man, who can't even travel beyond the planets, made the whole universe and even created himself??? He created all the intricate parts of himself and birthed himself??? Man is pretty arrogant and time will show God's truths. Not one of us can get to heaven without God.
@butterflybaby75 I don't presume anything. I don't have to. God told us everything so we wouldn't have to guess. So we would know. There are many false prophets and teachers in this world, that God told us to be aware of and stay clear of. Sounds like you got hold of one, I'm sorry to say. Even the devil believes in God, though he's not going to heaven.

@LadyGrace The Bible is a series of man-made historical texts written over a span of time which has never been accurately defined. The texts have been munged/edited/modified many times over a lot of years. You can have all the faith in all the world, but when you die your physical body will start to decay from the moment your heart stops beating and you are declared 'dead' via the action of bacteria already in your body and external influences. Nobody can escape that fate. When the body stops functioning the 'spirit' or whatever you want to call it no longer 'exists' in a meat body form and the energy gets released. It goes back into the 'consolidated account' of the universe.
@butterflybaby75 And who taught you this? Are they smarter than God? Man will never be smarter nor wiser than God. Just too big for his britches. Thinks he is, anyway.
@butterflybaby75
You can have all the faith in all the world, but when you die your physical body will start to decay from the moment your heart stops beating and you are declared 'dead' via the action of bacteria already in your body and external influences
There's no question about it. I never said it doesn't, but what happens after that, doesn't happen that way, according to God's Word, which you don't believe, so there's no sense going further. We just disagree. Your soul never ever dies. It isn't left to wander the earth or whatever. God told us exactly what happens. Even showed us. I believe Him. You don't. No problem.
@butterflybaby75
God is created by man, therefore God is fallable. God is a thing - science is reality.
It is man's finite reasoning that is far inferior to God's infinite wisdom and reasoning. God is a person. There are many things even science doesn't know nor can prove, so who is superior again? Certainly not science or man.
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@LadyGrace God is a 'thing'. God *cannot* be a person in any way shape or form resembling a human entity. Science deals with things in provable manner that religion does not.
@butterflybaby75 Many scientists are now admitting there has to be a God; that there's no other explanation.
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@LadyGrace Science continually expands human knowledge with things called 'facts'. The Bible contains no facts - just heresay.
@butterflybaby75 Without God, Science couldn't even think. God expands man's knowledge. Your philosophies are heresay.
@butterflybaby75 The Bible contains no facts, huh? That's odd. Every one of its prophecies have proven to have been fulfilled, to date! As shall all future prophecies. Approximately 2,500 prophecies appear in the pages of the Bible, about 2,000 of which already have been fulfilled to the letter—no errors. The remaining 500 or so, reach into the future and shall unfold as days go by. Remember the Blood Moons? That was God, too.
The Bible is a series of man-made historical texts written over a span of time which has never been accurately defined. The texts have been munged/edited/modified many times over a lot of years.
Are you specifically referring to the gospels here? The Gospels are similar accounts from multiple people ( We mainly focus on 4). There may be slight variations in the way they describe events, however the message is same.
If not, could you please give references where significant differences are spotted?
You can have all the faith in all the world, but when you die your physical body will start to decay from the moment your heart stops beating and you are declared 'dead' via the action of bacteria already in your body and external influences. Nobody can escape that fate.
I agree. Even The Bible don't argue against it.
When the body stops functioning the 'spirit' or whatever you want to call it no longer 'exists' in a meat body form and the energy gets released. It goes back into the 'consolidated account' of the universe.
You are right. But how this can disprove the concept of belief and salvation? As a believer in Christ, I believe that the final destiny is to reach God's Kingdom provided we meet certain criteria, which has been taught to us by Jesus. Let me challenge you here with the same energy principle. As per what you mentioned, don't you agree that our soul need to reach a specific destination even after our body decay? If yes, doesn't this prove Jesus's message of salvation?
Science deals with things in provable manner that religion does not.
Do you mean that science and religion are mutually exclusive?
The Bible contains no facts - just heresay.
I am not sure if you had ever read The Bible. Many prophecies from the old testament had been proved by Jesus during his brief stay on earth. Isn't that a testimony of the facts? Is there any specific reason why you categorically state that The Bible contains no facts?
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
@SW-User I have read the bible - several different versions actually - in my lifetime. The bible *cannot* be proved as fact because nobody alive today has personally witnessed any of the written stories to be able to validate them scientifically in a 'peer review' fashion.
SW-User
@butterflybaby75 Isn't that an unfair evaluation? How can you expect someone today to personally witness the events that happened ~2000 years back?

@butterflybaby75 A lot of people read the bible, yet are still unsaved. That is no criteria for salvation.

The Bible can be trusted, because God gave the writers inspiration from his Holy Spirit. Sin is a trait all of us have, yet we can still talk to God and be inspired by God. Ministers have sin while on earth, but God still uses them to give their message, and leads them by the Holy Spirit.

God did not entrust the spreading of his precious Word to just anyone. God's Word says He chose holy men of old to transcribe what the Holy Spirit inspired them to write. The Bible says in 2 Tim. 3:16, that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, and equipped for every good work. The Greek word is theopneustos, which means "God breathed, inspired by God, due to the inspiration of God."

Our sin is not greater than God's grace and power. God is able to work through sinners, who have been saved by grace, to accomplish his will and to make sure the Bible is trustworthy and sufficient to give us what we need to know, and the most IMPORTANT thing to know....how to get to heaven. Those who have tried to add or take away from its message, have still never been able to ruin or destroy God's message of salvation through the ages.

The differences of writing styles within the biblical documents, only reflect the different writers in different times. However, the Holy Spirit of God moved through all those writers, along with their personal styles, to produce documents that were accurate and without error.

2 Peter 1:20-21 - "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but HOLY MEN OF GOD spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

The disciple John, for example, was unschooled. It took the Holy Spirit to give him what to write. The part I find most astonishing, is that some obsess over the authenticity of the Bible, its origin and so forth, yet entirely miss the most important message of all time, and if you miss that, you've missed everything....which is the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, the Savior to the world. John 3:16

There are many books in the world, but the Bible is the only one that has the right to be called "The Book". It is different than all other books, teaching us spiritual truths. No other book has survived through the ages, nor printed for all throughout the world to read, than the Bible. The Bible is the only book on earth, where the author who died, is still alive. And shall be forevermore.
