I Believe In God

The blackened city calls out
Enter the temple of sin
You must enter the temple of sin
Contorted sinners beckon
Join our twisted rites
You must join our twisted rites
The priests eyes gleam
Blood on their scepters of flesh
There is blood on their scepters of flesh
The nubile virgin bows
Await the piercing thrust
She awaits the piercing thrust

You have a perverted understanding.

I'm not religious, but surely there is a sociological reason, and more to why priests and ministers get called out for being sexual deviants. It's sensationalist. Viral news never had meaning before Youtube..

I’m very religious and I don’t see evidence of a perverted understanding in this poem. Looks to me like he is addressing the abuses of the Church, which is a very real and relevant issue. People both religious and non religious are allowed to have an opinion about it and express that however they please. Priest and ministers are getting called out because they committed the act and what was done in the dark is coming to light - as all things do eventually. @SW-User

@DaughterOfTheDust Okay, where this is a perversion of faith to me. News journalists know how they write, they write for how social media responds, and I will argue that affects a persons identity/philosophy/values but we have me okay that I'm okay with this practice of priest/ministers as only I know people need their desires filled.

The duty of journalists is to write the truth with as little biases as possible. If the truth is ugly then it’s ugly regardless of biased reporting. The basic truth is that abuses occured in the Church towards children and they have been occurring for a long time. That’s an ugly truth and no amount of special reporting from anybody will make it pretty or justifiable. If you’re saying that you’re okay with the practice of priest abusing people because they need their needs met, then something is seriously wrong. Priests vow to give their lives in exchange for serving the Lord by serving the Church. That means giving up their own wants and desires. They knew that very well when they entered the priesthood. @SW-User

@DaughterOfTheDust Yet, the attitudes have changed strongly, and you may not recognize that as a form of truth. When it moves that rapidly one must wonder the validity, especially when it paints all so callously. IS journalism now after reward?

What exactly are you trying to say here? That child molestation should not be reported within the Church because it causes global turmoil? @SW-User

@DaughterOfTheDust Left in vague terms, finding nit picky parts about journalism, whenever there will be someone complaining, how am I to respond?

I literally quoted lyrics form the Death Metal band, Cannibal Corpse’s song, “Preist of Sodom”

People complain because there is a valid reason to complain, and be angry, and speak out. If you think that reporting about Church abuses is nothing more than a collection of insignificant complaints, then maybe you are the one with the perverted understanding and not the original poster. @SW-User

@DaughterOfTheDust Interesting, by what do you mean by that though? Convuluted

From what I gather from this argument, you seem to be in favor of (or in denial of) abuses in the Church. You have claimed twice that it’s a result of the needs of priests not being met. You have not once acknowledged the victims of this abuse. You say that he has a perverted understanding, but to me it sounds like the pot is calling the kettle black. If you think in anyway possible that these abuses are fine then you are the perverted one. @SW-User

@SW-User I think this says it all

@DaughterOfTheDust I'm not saying these abuses are okay. I really just had to go and knock on a neighbours door as I felt a guy may be becoming violent to his partner. I knew it would be awkward for her, I hated doing it ... what I'm extolling against is this is unique to religious person
