GOD’S GIFT
Many of us are use to the idea of earning a wage. Typically we get up bright and early each morning, we go to work and we file past a time clock and “punch” in or login into a computer and sign in.
We never had to punch out, unless we left early. On pay day, we received the wages we deserved.
One day there will be a spiritual payday. Every person will receive his earnings.
Scripture is clear that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. The payment for that sin will be death. Not just physical death; we will all experience that. Scripture speaks of death as an eternal separation from God; what Jesus refers to as hell. Sinners will receive the wages they deserve. Unless…
In contrast to the deserved wages of sin, God offers a gift!!!! This gift is not deserved and cannot be earned. It has been paid for by Jesus and his work on the cross. It cost him everything. It costs us nothing!!!
So hold out your hands and receive the gracious offering of God. Believe me, in this case, you don’t want what you deserve.
“Heavenly Father, Thank you for the free gift of salvation and for what Jesus has done for us on the cross. What we could not do for ourselves, in Jesus, we can exchange death for eternal life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
