In an election for president (or prime minister if you're a Briton) would you vote for someone who does not believe in god? [Spirituality & Religion]

I am quite surprised just now upon reading a poll which suggests that the majority of people in many western countries would be less likely, or even refuse to, vote for a nonreligious person.

I don't understand that.
If I vote for a political leader my hope is that he respects and abides by the Constitution.
What he does with religious books in his personal life is not something I care about. He could use the Bible, Koran or the Torah as a door stopper and I couldn't care less.
