Why are many American Christians so opposed to immigration? That's directly in violation of their religion. [Spirituality & Religion]

The bible contradicts itself in a lot of ways on a lot of subjects, but it is very consistent on the subject of immigration. The bible is extremely pro-immigration. There is an abundance of bible verses about "treating the sojourner as your friend or neighbor" and "inviting them to your feasts."

Most people in the Bible Belt think Jesus Christ had long blonde hair, blue eyes, and white skin when in reality he most likely looked like an average middle eastern man ....I think From the beginning of America, even the puritans wanted a very insular and segregated life from the natives. I feel like in America Christianity and nationalism play a big part together as I think the major reservation people have about immigrants is that they are a threat to "gods chosen country" and competing with "blue collar Jesus loving Americans" is a direct violation to their perceived Christian ideology....I don't think enforcing ILLEGAL immigration laws are violating Christian faith as simply following rules set by a sovereign country isnt wrong in its self but I do feel like a large percentage of christians in America don't want to see foreigners come into America legally either
