Why are many American Christians so opposed to immigration? That's directly in violation of their religion. [Spirituality & Religion]

The bible contradicts itself in a lot of ways on a lot of subjects, but it is very consistent on the subject of immigration. The bible is extremely pro-immigration. There is an abundance of bible verses about "treating the sojourner as your friend or neighbor" and "inviting them to your feasts."

@labsrock people who have been in this country "illegally" for many decades...paid taxes...became unofficial GOOD citizens are being tossed out of the country..families being torn apart....they should at least get every cent they paid into the system to take with them.Many. many of our relatives/ancestors came here "illegally"...such an easy word to hide hatred behind...hatred and ignorance....and that is why WE are here discussing the lives of people running from hell to safety...at least that is what my country was all about until recently.

My family immigrated to the USA from 1930s Nazi Germany, we know all to well about running from Hell to Safety. I personally think that people who have been here building a life and being productive should have a path to citizenship.

[@ I live in the USA where we want the rule of law. Lawful immigration is what has made this country prosperous and strong. Unchecked immigration is dangerous and foolish.
