Is Hell a real place? [Spirituality & Religion]

I grew up going to a southern Baptist church where we were taught that Hell was very real but I read somewhere Hell was a concept the Romans came up with to scare people. I have also read that in the bible nothing over eternally suffering was mentioned originally. So is Hell real or not?

Hell is not a fiery place of torment....The Bible's hell is simply mankind's common grave. GOOD PEOPLE and bad people go there when they die.
