I wonder if christians realize what happens when you die. [Spirituality & Religion]

I know for a lot of christians the idea is that you shuffle off this mortal coil and start partying hard in HEAVAAAAN!馃槑
I think that's what most people think when they think about it at all.
But what is the biblical support for that idea? As far as i know, when you die you go to sleep. And you stay asleep until christ returns. And THEN you gut up into heaven.

Noone knows what happens when you die. People only have their beliefs. I believe nothing happens. You are just dead. That's it.

@taintedprincess: Hmmmmmm but where does the energy go when you die

@Goralski: what energy? I do not beleive in souls.

[/quote]

It is consumed and transferred into the metabolic functions of various bacteria, microorganisms, plants etc.

@taintedprincess: not soul. ....our bodies produce 20 Watts of power when alive when we die it has to go somewhere I know enough ta know you can't kill energy
Goralski51-55, M
@MetalGreymon: that can't be true haaaaaaaa
MetalGreymon36-40, M
@Goralski:

Certainly it can.
You know you get energy from eating food, right?
That's what a calorie is: a unit of energy.

Energy is not something mystical.
Goralski51-55, M
@MetalGreymon: theirs a difference between chemical energy and physical energy im talking about d latter
taintedprincess46-50, F
@Goralski: well then it goes back into the earth..idk
taintedprincess46-50, F
I was simply saying noone knows what happens when you die
Goralski51-55, M
@taintedprincess: from what my imbecile mind can figure out it gets shot into space. ...and what is dark matter hmmmmmmmm
Goralski51-55, M
@taintedprincess: that is very true

@MetalGreymon: My understanding is that atoms always exist. Right now we could be breathing in atoms that have "existed" for billions of years. Or came from the decomposed ass of Ben Franklin. Probably why I have an urge to fly a kite.
MetalGreymon36-40, M
@Ynotisay:

I couldn't honestly say about that. I'm not sure what happens to an atom when you split it to make a nuclear reaction.
YnotisayM
@MetalGreymon: Splitting an atom doesn't eliminate an atom. While it's obviously impossible to prove the idea that atoms are, in essence, eternal is where we are in terms of understanding them.
MetalGreymon36-40, M
@Ynotisay:

Yeah could be.
