the electron was not discovered until 1897 but obviously existed before it was discovered. Why then is proof of God's existence the determining factor to His existence?

The electron isn't claiming to be a supreme being, and has no one doing so on its behalf. An Electron is merely an electron, worthy of discovery but not crucial to our philisophical urge to understand how we got here and if there is a supreme being.
