I had a friend on Ep who did not start off that way ,I was bashed endlessly when I first joined the site ,He and his friends told me I needed surgery that could stop me from hearing voices ,that I needed to put back on my tin foil hat ,,and the list of insults went on and on buy he and many of his friends ,but over time we came to understand each other and come to an agreement ,we did not have to talk about God or religion to still find common interests and other things to talk about ,,
Later our friendship grew and I will share a few of his last posts if I may
my friend
I know you have serious health problems and lots of pain and other complications you have to deal with.I wish you a long life as long as you can bear it.You're a courageous person with a heart of gold and it is a privilege that you consider me your friend.
Also I spend several hours a week at Landmark education.I have to say there's no shortage of very religious people there .
I've come to the conclusion that believing in God or not doesn't really mean so much to me .It's all in who that someone is being in life and to judge someone on what they do or don't believe is empty and meaningless.,,,

Months go by and no word from him and then one day in my inbox ,there is this message

Your faith and beliefs are obviously something that empowers.Makes you more in touch with your humanity.Forgive me for some of my previous things I wrote here that were critical to your beliefs.
You walk the walk that is close to what Christ spoke of while so many here act from pure self righteousness that is simply their own ego and far from what Christ spoke to his followers.
You could say the same thing of other influential people like MLK.
Even Buddha. They all were beings of peace yet their message gets lost over time .
Keep doing what your doing, it's a contribution here, and God knows this place needs all the help it can get.

this is one of many such messages from people who set out to run me off of Ep ,,but when they got to know me they found I was not "Religious " I just love Christ ,but I love my fellowman too ,
yes I have many friends who are not religious ,and even some who are do not believe as I do ,but thats Ok ,we can agree to disagree ,
Unless you are willing to lead by example and practice what you preach ,its all just words anyway right ?
When we let Christ shine through ,its easy to see who is and who is not His Child
you shall know them by their fruits ,
if you say you are a Christian ,your fruit (Character should reflect that )
Yes I do. Could not love him more. A best friend.

Uh... Yeah.... We argue a lot about it.. But it's fun arguing... We know we aren't going to change each other's mind.. ᶘ ͡°ᴥ͡ °ᶅ/

I can be friends with anyone that does not disrespect me..so yes, I can and do have friends that do not agree with me on politics or religion!! A few and they are very good friends IMO. :)

Yes. Many of my friends (some of my closest friends) couldn't be more opposite in both religious and political beliefs from me. The key has been respect. We joke and give each other a hard time, but at the end of the day, we respect each other's beliefs and value our relationship more than "being right or convincing the other that they're wrong."

UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
Yeah, I've got or had friends from all walks of life both religious, not religious and everywhere in-between. Some may no longer be friends but their faith was never an issue or reason why our friendship may have broken down.
I am agnostic and my friends dont care about such stuff. We are humans and not belief aliens.
I have an atheist friends, a christian and a muslim friend.

Define a friend. Ofc I have "friend" with various shit in their heads, but my "close friends" basically share all of my opinions
