@GraceFromEP: I never said I was there. I'm replying to a post that said atheists are confused. Tell me, what exactly are atheists confused about? You talk as if Life never existed before Jesus came and saved us all! You forget that Jesus was confined to a small area of the world, before his followers spread like crazy. Other parts of the world already had their own 'GODS'. So what God are you referring to here? Cuz as far as I know, Jesus has no connection whatsoever with the other 'Gods' that I have read about. So does that mean the other gods were a lie? A figment of human imagination?

@TheFlash: I do respect your beliefs. I just can't agree with them, but that's okay. I go strictly by what God revealed in His Word, when he said all things were made by him, and without him was anything made. But then, if one does not believe in His Word, naturally, it will have no meaning for them. Thanks for explaining that.

Christianity is in no way old. The oldest religion is Hinduism, followed by Zoroastrianism and Jainism. The Vedas, on which Hinduism is based on, are one of the oldest known religious texts in the world. The Vedic culture was actually just a way of life, before all the religions came into play. Each religion has their own version of how man was created. Christianity and Islam are the youngest of the popular religions and have many common beliefs, along with Judaism. So when you say 'God' made all things, I wonder, which one?
I am in no way religious, but I ain't ignorant either. The 'concept' of God is a necessity. When people lose all hope, they turn to their god for help. In a way, religion is good. But in the end, it does more harm than good.

The Bible can be trusted, even though it was written by sinful people, because God inspired the writers. That is, God did not entrust the spreading of his precious Word to just anyone. He chose Holy men of old to transcribe what the Holy Spirit inspired them to write. The Bible says in 2 Tim. 3:16, that “ALL Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness.”  

Inspiration is the work of God through people so that what was written is without error and is true. The differences of writing styles within the biblical documents reflect the different writers in different times. However, the Holy Spirit of God moved through those writers, along with their personal styles, to produce documents that were accurate and without error. 

2 Peter 1:20-21 - "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

Christian, simply means follower of Christ. No religion on earth can save a person's soul. Salvation is found in the person of Jesus.

The Earth is only about 5 to 7000 years old. Ancient civilizations only go back so far.

@TheFlash: You are quite wrong about the oldest religions. I am familiar with what you mentioned. These religions don't predate Noah. Check the Bible and note the family line documented right up to Adam and Eve. There is not one skipped generaation.

How do you know that Jesus is the creator of all? Through a book that his followers wrote? The world existed way way before Jesus or the bible came into existence. You are again quoting from a book that humans wrote, not God! What I see is here is blind faith. Which is totally fine, since you seem happy with that. I on the other hand, do not believe there is someone out there judging my actions.

The Rig Veda is one of the oldest manuscripts ever written, dating back to around 1700-1100 [u]BC[/u]. I'm stating facts here. And all you can say are tales from the bible about Noah? I have a helluva lotta stories from my religion as well. Gods with supernatural powers that predate everything ever known to man. The bible ain't the only Holy book mate. Different people, different culture, different beliefs. You can talk about this all you want, but the fact remains that Jesus and Christianity were born a few thousand years too late. The stories, all written by mere humans.

@TheFlash: Of course not. There are tons of different religions. No one is discounting them, nor ignoring your question about them. The question is....what good are they? Salvation is not found in ANY religion; but rather, in a person of Jesus Christ. God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved by works. He will only save those who are trusting to be saved by faith. Salvation is not doing your best. It is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith. We are saved simply by admitting we are a sinner in God's sight, asking him to forgive us, and believing he did. “The Gospel” according to 1st Corinthians 15:1-4, is three things; namely, Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He was buried, and He bodily resurrected three days later. Christ is our sin payment.
