There is a common myth that just because we do not believe in an afterlife, that means we have nothing to live for. Well that's wrong, its the opposite; we have nothing to die for. We have a more focused attention to life because we believe it ends when we die. Life is precious and i value it so much.

I believed in God for 13 years of my life. Since I stopped, I've actually gained more value for my life knowing that it was all in my hands to be who I wanted. There was something freeing about realizing I didn't owe my whole life to Jesus. I respect those who believe in it, and I ask that they respect me. However, for me, atheism is one of the most eye opening experiences I've had. :)
