Yes. I've grown up with Muslim neighbors, had Muslim classmates in college, colleagues and clients throughout my career. I even have had relatives who 'reverted' as it's called when one joins the faith. And have friends to this day. None of them, in the 50+ years I've known them, has ever been involved in terrorist activities, so when people try to tell me the religion itself is violent, I have to wonder, when did it become so ? Islam does not appeal to me personally, but then no organized religion does, because they all teach misogyny and inequality in their most fundamentalist forms.
