@softspokenman: Not religious doctrine, philosophy. Religion would naturally raise it's head during philosophical discussions. I'm not saying that religion should be taught as truth but it would come up during open and free philosophical discussions. Similar to racism it needs to be discussed openly and without prejudice in order for people to understand why it happens and how to avoid it.

This would cause some problems though because of the bigoted or fascist attitude taught to many kids by their parents.

Perhaps it could be offered as a voluntary after school activity instead of sport or whatever.

Standardized teaching and testing, dictated by Bureaucrats, doesn't allow time for teaching children how to become people (human beings). Gym, Art, Music, Sports, Shop and creative thinking aren't necessary in the world of "Alternative facts". Voluntary ? How long before teachers are Expected to teach as voluntary teachers, many have to rely on donations for pencils and paper for classrooms because Bureaucrats say "THEY" don't have the money. Close more schools make larger classrooms ? Teachers inculcate (teach the culture) of the society we live in ?
