Do you think Creationism should be taught in school? If so, why? [Spirituality & Religion]

And of course i mean taught in the same way evolution is taught, not as a lesson in comparative religion.

UnparalleledMonster, I don't see how creationism could be taught... there's nothing to teach.

It's an unsupported claim that some or other magical entity appeared from nothing and then made everything else from nothing.

It'd be tough to get a single lecture out of that wholly unnecessary proposition, let alone a semester or so.

Yeah i'm not too sure how they would teach it as science either. It's like teaching medieval history by referring to the lord of the rings trilogy as source material

Science is a way to keep from fooling others... more importantly, it's also a way to keep from fooling ourselves.

In light of that, we can easily see why creationists would have a problem with science.

@newjaninev2:

That's certainly why i trust its findings

Yes, it's amusing that when speaking about science, creationists somehow forget to mention evidence and peer-review.

Science observes, gathers evidence, and then reaches perpetually tentative conclusions (Theories) based on that evidence.

creationism begins with an unquestionable conclusion and then tries to bulldoze backwards through the evidence in order to support that conclusion

lol yeah they definitely play it a bit fast and loose when using words like "science" and "evidence"

How about we teach other creationist myths like native American creation myths; hey maybe some Norse mythology in science class! Thor!!! Thor!

Hey maybe we can teach the pantheon of Greek gods in science class!!!!

Ok I've said enough defending something as proven as the world is round or the earth revolves around the sun. Screw this, good night everyone :P
