Why would a Christian parent let their children decide when old enough on baptism, religion? [Spirituality & Religion]

Would they let them decide whether they get an eduction? A parent who truly believes that their children's eternal soul is at stake will not just wait and let them decide for themselves—they will do everything possible to set their children on the way they believe is true.

Because you don't get salvation until you accept Jesus. You can be baptised but that doesn't mean shit if you don't accept Him in your heart.
You wait till the kid can choose for themselves whether or not to accept Jesus.
If they don't then there is no salvation, whether or not they had a baptism
