Long ago I taught in a coven. Not everyone can shake their Christian mindset.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@Crazywaterspring I tend to think that is what Wicca is for.

I had a friend who was a Christian witch. She was also a psychic medium and a believable one to say the least. I didn't question her religious preference but she did tell me there were certain things she saw that made some aspects of Christianity still powerful to her.
It's a mystery to me too, but I trusted her.

Looool. Me.
I mean, I'm not a Christian nor a witch but I'm a deeply curious person and will dip my toes in anything that calls me. Idc about surface level contradictions. We're all full of them.

@HijabaDabbaDoo well, this is true. We all love a good contradiction.
Why not??? A lot of Christianity is based on paganism...

@FoxyGoddess Exactly...
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@HootyTheNightOwl then just be a pagan or a witch. Why distill it?
@FoxyGoddess You know that's exactly what got witches killed, right???
There are Jewish mystics so ...kinda similar
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@cherny See, if someone called themselves a Jewish witch,I'd be fine with that.
But the foundations of what christians follow doesn't mesh well. Things like satan, evil, sin, patriarchy, monotheistic, among other things just don't work with witchcraft.

@FoxyGoddess I think there is more to it than that
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@cherny perhaps

Oxymoron, you can't be both of those two things simultaneously. I guess you can think you are, but you truly cannot be. It's in opposition.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@Magicianzini that is what I think as well, but yet, they exist.
Magicianzini · M
@FoxyGoddess Yes, they think they exist haha. People, I guess, can delude themselves into all manner of perception.
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
Just to be clear, I'm not saying they shouldn't exist. People are free to beleive whatever they want.
I'm just saying that my experienced 7 years as a devout Christian and my 30 years years of being a pagan after doing years of research about it and its history, i just don't see or understand how they can be combined.
That doesn't mean someone else has figured it out and made it make sense. It just doesn't in my framework.

I think some people get a kick out of trolling with their supposed contradictory identity. Like those people you see online who are like "Yeah, I'm a vegan. Yeah, I eat meat. WE EXIST." What am I supposed to do with that? 🤨
HijabaDabbaDoo · F
@Nate931 this made me cackle
