The Evil God

Who needs to fear the Devil when it's God who is the cause of the evil in the world?

Isaiah 45:7 (KJV) = "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."

Okay. What is evil? In the ancient Hebrew it was written. In various translations.

@PathwayMachine If one can't understand what it means it's worthless.
@MoveAlong Who said one can't understand what it means? I know of children and mentally handicapped people who know what it means. It's very simple. And besides, what kind of argument is that? Everything you can't understand is worthless?

@PathwayMachine If as you say there are various translations then it's worthless. Shouldn't there be just one translation since it's the word of God?. Or do you pick and choose which suits you?
@MoveAlong Well, I mean, it's a subjective thing, isn't it. One man's worthless is another man's treasure. You can pick and choose which one suits you or you can ignore them all. The more translations there are though, don't you think, the more you can see or not see.

See?

@PathwayMachine No I don't see. You are saying the word of God is subjective. That one can pick and choose the interpretation that suits them.

Don't get me wrong. I believe it's all a confused mixture of rubbish.
@MoveAlong
No I don't see.

I see.

You are saying the word of God is subjective.

Not that the Bible is the word of God, but how could it not be subjective? Some embrace it, some reject it. Doesn't that make it subjective? Some think God evil some don't. Subjective. Of course anyone can pick the interpretation that suits them. Why wouldn't they?

Don't get me wrong.

Why not?

I believe it's all a confused mixture of rubbish.

Well, maybe it is. But which one?
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
@PathwayMachine Which one? Or none?
@MoveAlong Exactly.

The word in Hebrew, there in the verse you gave, is ra. It can be translated as bad, gloomy, evil, calamitous, that sort of thing.

The actual Bible was created by the Catholics and it was written in Latin. All other versions are simply translations into other languages and revisions of other translations.

Well, maybe it is. But which one?

All English language versions express the same basic ideas but some versions do omit certain verses.
@Diotrephes Nonsense. Compare the verse you gave. Calamity, disaster, bad times. You implied God created evil. So what? What does that mean? It means he created punishment. Discipline. Spare the rod, spoil the child.
@Diotrephes Where do you get your misinformation?

Well, the fairytale does say that god beats the hell out those he loves. Have you had any serious bad times lately?

Which of my comments are you in disagreement with?
@Diotrephes
Which of my comments are you in disagreement with?

All of them. What year was the Catholic church formed and what year did Moses write Job?
