I used to be a Christian

Converting to paganism was the best decision I've ever made. My Gods have my back and don't wish harm on my community. I'm encouraged to be who I am and never hide it.

I read your comment about Christianity.
What scares people way from that is that if you believe in God then you have to believe the Devil .
That's what scares people ' going to hell and all of that .
I read up about saints and they have great briefs.
The devil part scares people away .
I'm very open and have no bothers talking about my beliefs .
Christianity works for me cause I suffered most of my life , so I'm used to suffering , so when the Devil voice or if you want to say it in another way when it concerns people the low self worth voice comes in I'm used to it .
The voice don't get me most of the time and what happens with that is solitude and peace .
In times when life gets that big harder I changed to Buddhism but still have the belief very strong to Christianity as well .
I'm very open to beliefs and I say that's what got me through my life
I love listening to Chinese Japanese Buddhists .
When they explain about life . They keep life very simple without scaring the crap out of you .
That's what works for me and if paganism works for you , stick to it cause that belief you have about you brings in a security to your life
@riseofthemachine I was surprised to hear you say this. Of course this choice is up to you, however, whomever one chooses to worship, doesn't change the reality that we'll all still have to face eternity in one of two places, so our decision is important, to say the least. Jesus didn't come to scare anyone. He came to save us from that scary place called hell, and the condemnation sin placed on us. It's not about religion at all. And we don't have to be scared, if we prepare our souls for eternity, before it's our time to leave this place.

Religion can't save anybody, but Jesus can. Religion didn't die on the cross to save us, but the person of Jesus did. Jesus didn't come to condemn the world. He came to save it, as stated in John 3:16 and 17. If we miss that important truth, we'll miss everything, because there's no such thing as reincarnation in the Bible. Salvation has nothing to do with religion. It has to do with Jesus dying on the cross so we can have eternal life in heaven. We cannot step into a holy heaven with sin on our heels. When we ask Jesus to forgive us, he promises to do so. He is our best friend, not our enemy. He's the only one that has the power to save us. Satan wants just the opposite.

Jesus turns no one away. I don't know about you, but I am certainly not going to trust my soul to man-made gods. There's no such thing as a second chance, once we cross over. Eternity means just that... forever. We can't afford to gamble with our own soul or get it wrong. One of the Ten Commandments is that we cannot get to heaven by worshipping two gods. That doesn't work and here's why.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. ... No one comes to the Father except through me." John 4:16

If I was not a born-again believer, I would be more terrified of all those other religions and gods out there, that didn't tell me, I can prepare my soul for eternity and avoid hell! What good are they?

@LadyGrace eternity isn't scary when you don't believe in it
@thechik96 Sweetheart, that makes it even more scary. Jesus said there is. He's been there and back. Everyone saw him in person and over 500 Witnesses watched him resurrect and go to his father in Heaven after his mission on Earth was done. We can wish a lot of things, but that won't change reality. Our souls are much too precious to gamble with. I believe God, not the devil. One thing that tells us there is an eternity is that you know we can't live forever and we go somewhere and that is eternity.

@LadyGrace you can tell 500 witnesses to a crime that a guy wearing purple ran from the scene and they will agree because the brain filled the blanks. When though he was actually in all white..... The brain feeds off the information it's given phycology has proven that. Hope is a powerful drug. So is the mind. These writings have been ran through translators and like 1000 times which is the equivalent of running something through Google translate 100 times. You will not finish with what you originally said. King James was proven to have changed the Bible to meet his needs as a king. The Geneva came before that and was the original English translation. But even then this God over and over wants praise and recognition and blind faith. My Gods want you to worship yourself and make something of yourself for you. Not for them

I think you have me mixed up with someone else. Show me where I said King James was proven to have changed the Bible to meet his needs as a king. I don't mind discussing, but don't put words in my mouth.

No one had to tell these 500 witnesses anything. It wouldn't be hard to forget, when all 500 witnesses were concentrating only on one figure in white, ascending into heaven, to go back to his Father in Heaven. He wasn't wearing colorful clothes. I'm sure they could remember someone in all white.

All 500 Witnesses were not delusional. Psychologists say that would be an impossibility because delusions cannot be transferred one to another. They know what they saw and they all agreed in harmony, all 500 of them, and they kept diaries of it. Records, which we have today. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, to let everyone see he had risen, he stayed an extra 40 days and showed himself to everyone and his nail scarred hands and feet. That's something you can't fake.

Hope is not a drug. It's Jesus's powerful promises he has kept for centuries, and every one of his prophecies which are listed in the bible, have come true to this date, and that has been proven and listed. The Bible is more up to date than tomorrow's newspaper. It lists with great accuracy, the coming events and what to expect in our future in great detail. It was accurate with every single one of the other prophecies and it's highly unlikely that it will be inaccurate for the remaining prophecies to be fulfilled. I've seen God's work and I know he's alive because he saved my daughter from dying and I have seen others where he has done the same thing. I have seen God touch alcoholics hearts and change them instantly to where they never wanted to touch another drop. One was my pastor. Only God can work miracles like that. What proof have you seen of your gods? I'm really interested in knowing.

I do have a few questions for you:

You said you don't believe in eternity, so why believe in many gods in this world? Who are they, and what have they done for you? Why would you need them, if there's no eternity?

@LadyGrace my gods are thor, brigid, Odin, Freya, danu, Loki, and many others each controls one part of our natural world. There is an afterlife but as I don't believe in your God or your hell. I have absolutely no fear of hell. 500 people can be heavily influenced to say they all saw the same thing extremely easily. I never said you personally said King James didn't change the Bible my point is in the lack of proof that any of these other scribes didn't change it as well. Anyone could add their own flair or interpretation to the Bible. If scholars agree with it they can say that it was direct translation to meet their ideals. Brings me back to way back when only the leaders could read. Unless you can read the original text then truth is .... You have no clue what it really says. I have seen my God danu bear me 2 children when I was unable to do so. I've seen Thor create mighty storms that have sent relief to areas of drought. I've seen brigid guide through changes of seasoned
@thechik96 who are you and why are you answering Rosie's questions I asked her?
@thechik96 I never said you said anything ma'am. Are you Rosie? I was speaking to her and she is the one that said that and here's her reply:

"You will not finish with what you originally said. King James was proven to have changed the Bible to meet his needs as a king."

I don't know but I'm leaving this conversation. I don't even know why this King James thing was brought up because I didn't even mention it in my answers. Thanks for the chat.
thechik96 · 26-30, F
@LadyGrace King James is the most widely used Bible amoung church bodies. That's why it was mentioned. Yes I'm Rosie. Have fun enjoy your beliefs. Just debating not hating.
@thechik96 Oh right, you're absolutely right. It is. Thanks for explaining that. ❤🫂
