God Hates Sin, No Two Ways About It

Woke is sin, plain and simple.

As a Christian who starts with God’s Word, it’s been exciting the last few weeks to watch woke idols—such as preferred pronouns, transgender ideology, and racist DEI hiring practices—fall swiftly as the new administration in the US and many previously very woke corporations distance themselves from these things or outright reject them. But if wokeness is your god, well, the recent happenings are nothing short of devastating.

A recent article quotes a former fundraiser for the Democratic National Convention, Lindy Li (who has since left the party, and while Li’s credibility is suspect, what she’s saying does seem to match the public reaction of many in the DNC), as saying that her former political party is “in complete shambles,” is “completely rudderless,” and is in a “wilderness” that she’s not sure how they’ll get out of after their loss to President Trump. Apparently, all of their donors are “so angry and upset with the state of the party.”

But why, despite the outcome of the election and the outrage of their supporters, is the party doubling down on their woke agenda? Well, they trusted in a false god. According to Li, “It’s their religion . . . woke is their god.”

Contrast that god with the one true God, the Creator. Our God is not at the mercy of the opinions of the American people, many of whom loved the woke god for a while but turned away from it when it became too radical. Our God is sovereign over the opinions of man—in fact,He’s the one who appoints or removes leaders from their positions! Our God lives forever and, unlike the god of wokeism, is perfectly righteous, just, impartial, loving, kind, gracious, and merciful. He’s not capricious and demanding—He’s kind and gentle.

The woke god isn’t worthy of devotion or worship any more than any other false god or idol. Only the one true God, who loved us so much He gave His very life to save sinners like you and me, is worthy of our love and devotion.

So my message to Democrats left flustered, angry, or outraged by the current political scene is this: Turn away from your woke god and turn to the living God who alone can satisfy and give you hope, peace, and joy for now and forever.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken

God hates the act of sin, not the person who is capable of sinning, and can choose to change their actions. Even though someone might be involved in sin, they can still choose to change and be forgiven by God. God "hates sin but not the sinner" means that God completely disapproves of sinful actions, while still loving the individual person who commits those sins, offering them the opportunity for repentance and redemption. Sin is a choice or action, not an inherent part of a person's identity, so God can condemn the sin, without condemning the individual. God is fair, sin is not. It is sin that keeps us separated from God and condemns us. Therefore, it is important to guard our own soul, repent of our sins, and invite Jesus into our hearts and lives as Savior. If we do nothing, our sins continue to condemn us. We cannot drag our sins into a holy heaven, but through Jesus we can be forgiven and be reconciled unto God the Father. It is then we inherit eternal life because of the work Jesus did on the cross to pay for our sins. We must never leave our soul to chance. Eternity is a long time to get it wrong. Jesus didn't leave us to guess how to be saved. He told this exactly what to do in His Word, and that is to repent and be saved.
