Although I was raised Church of Norway, I am more spiritual than religious!
I think a lot of people might say the same thing, with the press around the world talking about excesses and child endangerment from most Christian churches, it is true that is not about God, but it is about failing imperfect people. Despite what people observe, it was made apparent to me a long time ago why there are so many problems in the human world, however many thousands of years ago, in the Garden of Eden, whatever you may get from the story, the important thing to realise is that by defying God's ordnance, we effectively (through Adam & Eve, our collective foreparents) told God we can do everything on our own.
Satan in his duping of Eve told us we can be like God, and yes, there have been lots of men and women who have in some way sought to represent themselves as Gods and Goddesses, only to then grow old and die, or have their followers burn their dead bodies outside a damaged Chancellery building!
It is hard to be religious, but being spiritual, believing that there is a Creator, since the science of Evolution doesn't quite add up (despite the bluster of it's advocates), suits me personally, and that He came to Earth to prove His argument to sinners, shows the depths of His mercy, and His love for His creation which means a good deal to me.
