You don't have to clean up, to come to Jesus. Come to Jesus, and get cleaned up by the Holy Spirit which indwells you.

Jesus didn’t say, “I’ll save you, if you promise to stop sinning and be a good person.” In fact, He said quite the opposite, in John 6:37 & 40, “Whoever comes to me, I will never drive away...For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him, shall have eternal life...”

We put far too much pressure on ourselves. Jesus doesn't want us to beat ourselves up. A man doesn’t have to cure his alcoholism before he comes to Christ. When Jesus saved the adulterous woman from being stoned, he didn’t pull her aside and say, “Hey, I can save your life right now, but I need to know for sure that you are never going to sin again.” He didn’t require anything from her at all. He saved her life first, he refused to condemn her, then he told her to “go and sin no more.”

Jesus takes us exactly as we are, but just like the woman caught in adultery, he expects us to “go and sin no more.” When we invite Jesus into our hearts and lives to be our Savior, the Holy Spirit transforms our life, and now we have a desire to be more Christlike.

My heart breaks for the people who believe that they aren’t “good enough” for Jesus. That's a devil's lie. You never have to win God's favor. He already loves you. He's not happy when we sin, however, he loves us as a person and promises to never turn anyone away, who wants him to be their Savior.

We shouldn’t assume that an alcoholic, adulterer, or anyone living in a sinful lifestyle, cannot be saved unless they first stop committing that particular sin. There is no biblical basis for assuming that you have to change any aspect of who you are, before you are accepted by Christ. There is nothing that says you have to stop sinning or even clean your life up, before you can be accepted by Christ. That would defeat the entire purpose of his death and resurrection. Jesus came to save sinners. He loves us just as we are, right at this very moment.

“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 5:31-32

We need Jesus because we are sinners. That isn’t confined to the small “easy to fix” sins. That applies to ALL sins. Jesus loves you exactly as you are. Jesus loves us. Knowing we are sinners, Jesus died for us anyway.

We are broken; we are sinful. Jesus comes in and changes that. If we had the capability to change it and save ourselves, then we wouldn’t have needed Him. He wouldn’t have had to die on the cross. None of that would have been necessary if we could “fix” ourselves. We, who are sinful, cannot rescue ourselves from our own sins. It takes the One who has the power to erase all our sins and make us whole again...Jesus.

The thing that is so wonderful about Jesus, is that he transforms our heart and life. He gives us a brand new life and a brand new start. It’s a change that cannot be described in words, it can only be experienced upon accepting Jesus as our Savior.

You don’t have to change for Jesus. He is the one who changes you.

"There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And I trust Christ, my Righteousness and my Pardon. My sins are covered. My sins can no longer bring condemnation to me. In Jesus, I have passed from death to life (John 5:24).”

His arms are open to all
so come clean
Psalm 103:12
as far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, so far off he'll put our transgressions
Hebrews 10:26
if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth,
there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins
@ammelee As per my post, nobody has to come clean before they can come to Jesus. Scripture confirms this.

As for Hebrews 10:26, the meaning is, this verse is addressed to Jewish non-believers who had heard about Jesus being the Messiah but continued to offer animal sacrifices at the temple.

Further, this verse is not about losing one's salvation. Those who reject Christ reject the one and only sacrifice which can save them. There is not, and will never be, any other means to remove sin.
Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling

Luke 13:23-24

Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.
@ammelee People constantly mistake these verses to mean one can lose one's salvation, but given further study, and taken in context, they see that it doesn't mean that at all. Our salvation is eternal. Eternal means forever. God never goes back on His Word to save us. John 3:16 says that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. That everlasting life starts the minute we accept Jesus as our Savior. We are saved by God's grace, not by our performance. Works have nothing to do with salvation.

Salvation is based on God's work: Salvation is based on what God does, not on what people do.

God intended for people to be saved: God didn't want people to live in constant fear and doubt about whether they were saved.

Jesus died for all sins, not just some.

The command to ''work out'' salvation is a directive to let the new birth in Christ translate into actions. As a part of this, believers should serve God without griping or complaining. Paul knows that his service to God has been hard, but this is simply another form of offering.
Hebrews 6:4-6
New International Version
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened,
who have tasted the heavenly gift,
who have shared in the Holy Spirit,
5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God
and the powers of the coming age
6 and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance.
To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. 21 It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command

If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.
@ammelee Exactly. Brought back to repentance. Meaning they don't lose their salvation. Scripture confirms that one can lose rewards in heaven after they are saved, by sinning, but they never lose their salvation.

If any man's work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man's work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through (Cleansing by Holy Spirit) fire" (I Corinthians 3:10-15).

@ammelee There is a property in human being. They always want to be like the person whom they like/idealise/think good about. I think once the Holy Spirit enters our body. It opens up our conscience to the extent that we would not want to sin. But as Paul said that there is a difference between the spiritual body and physical body, we should avoid sinning in spirit.
@ammelee No, a Christian cannot lose their salvation because Romans 11:29 says, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” This means that God’s gift of eternal life is permanent and cannot be taken away, lost, or forfeited.
Even when you know to say Lord, my God,

"Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven".
@ammelee Proves nothing. No matter how many times you try to prove that you can lose your salvation, Jesus said you cannot. That verse you quoted only means that there are some that think they're going to get to heaven by being good and by good works, but they will be sadly mistaken on the last day when they stand before the Lord.
But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
@ammelee you can quit now because no matter how many times you say it, one cannot lose their salvation. Who's ever teaching you is not teaching you right.

@ammelee

only a few find it.

No Doubt about that. Present generation is just chasing false God that's Money and therefore, again, no doubt

small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life

As one can not serve two masters. I have chosen Jesus Christ as my master. Have you?
Here I thought we were discussing the bible
and it seems like you thought we were trying to prove each other wrong.

Many will say to me on that day,
‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name
and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’
Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@ammelee Sadly, you are not discussing Bible. You are trying to enforce your way of judgment. You don't even believe that Jesus has already paid for your sins on the Cross.
@DanielsASJ those were bible veses ...not a word from me

not personal judgement

bible verses
@ammelee it's you that keeps drilling your point. I appreciate your comments but as I mentioned, you can say it a million times but it's not going to change the fact that you believe we can lose our salvation and I do not, according to confirmation in Scripture, so we will just have to agree to disagree rather than keeping the conversation going. There's no point.

@ammelee I never said they were personal judgment. Don't put words in my mouth and you know, as I mentioned, not one of the verses you sent confirms that one can lose their salvation. They are taken out of context. I'm not here to argue with you so let's move on.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@ammelee I know but you are mixing the old testament to the new testament. As human beings, we were told by the old testament, we were shown by the old testament that we can not remain on this earth without sin.

And that was when God sent his son to liberate us from sin. You eat, you sin. You think I'll about someone, you sin. Oh, Jesus Christ explained it so beautifully. Don't you know that?

Someone asked him about the commandments and he said that even if you even think about fornication, that's a sin. What about people who can not help them but dream? This world is full of sin and you can never escape SIN.

How can you forget Paul?

And Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice to all the sin of this world. And your sins are washed by the blood of Jesus Christ if you believe in him. All the commandments are done away with the New Testament. Love one another. Where is your love? Where is your respect?

By you I am not saying you specifically, that covers me too. Where is my respect for elders? Where is my love? So I try to be good as much as I can but I know that I have Christ Jesus who will erase my sins, even though I should strive to be as much sinless as I could be.
@DanielsASJ those were bible verses

you're getting riled up about bible verses

now you "attack" me and delete bible verses

you are deleting the bible
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@ammelee You are a good woman I know that. You just need a bit more clarity of the verses. And same goes for me too.
@ammelee No one is attacking you. We have talked to you very nicely but you insist on keeping the conversation going when it is at a standstill and we don't want to be arguing with anyone. So it's best to just agree to disagree and move on.
DanielsASJ · 36-40, M
@ammelee Be in our company. We will learn something from you and surely, you will learn something from us, including @BritishFailedAesthetic, LadyGrace, music man, Godspeed, Eyeno. For now, I have these names.
TY. I don't think so young man. Some people prefer to drive wearing eyeflaps (and I have to add lol one of them could be me) I can tell I'm not your kind of people and it's just fine.
