I Walk by Heavens Light

I walk these roads of life
not in the power of my own might
no, these days I walk the twists and turns
only in heavens light

I’ve made my own way
past triumphs misunderstood
thought by my own hand, no
in reality, was, but if not for
heavens light

it’s easy to get confused thinking the game was mine
figured I was winning the race against time
but in reflection now I realized I was never alone
I was walking in heavens light

for me ‘‘twas a matter of adjusting my eyes
to know who was really in control
sometimes I listened but more times than not
I was truly misguided thinking it was by my hand

these days I’m grateful
I know by who’s power I walk
these days I’m humbled
because I know it’s not about me
but if not for God through Jesus Christ
I’d surely cease to be
