We Know Who The Creator Is But Why Do The Skeptics Deny Him Who Lives Forever?

The Truth of God: We were made from dust in the image of our Creator. The Lie of the world: But in rebellion, our culture tells us that we are the creators now.

What is the connection between climate alarmism, abortion, and transgenderism? Or between feminism, critical race theory, and postmodernism? In fact, what is the connection between the whole host of anti-biblical social issues and philosophies we’re concerned about in modern America? When we consider all the ideologies and trends rising around us, it can be bewildering to work out what real problem lies behind it all.

The answer begins with an important truth about human beings, revealed in Genesis 2:7: “"The Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground."” That might seem like an obscure reference because when we answer the question “what is a human being?” we usually turn our minds to Genesis 1:27. There we learn that God created humans in his own image and likeness. This truth teaches us that men and women were made to reflect God’s glory in creation.

Yet being made in God’s image and likeness is only one truth. The other truth is this: we were made from dust.

This truth tells us that we are not gods. It tells us that we are only creatures—part of the stuff that God created. This humbling, constraining truth tells us that there are limits on how we can image, or reflect, God. We could image his holiness, and therefore his love, goodness, mercy, justice, truth, and so on. However, a whole other side of God’s nature is totally inaccessible to us, such as his infinity, omnipotence, self-existence, omniscience, and so on. God will always be the great and mighty Creator. We will always be his dependent and finite creatures.

Our world hates this truth. Remember, the serpent tempted Eve by falsely promising, “"You will be like God"” (Genesis 3:5). The first humans wanted something more than mere creatureliness. They wanted to be like the Creator himself. In Genesis 3, they tried to imitate his creation power by refusing to submit to his definition and deciding for themselves what was good and evil. They started acting as if they were God, with power over right and wrong.

This account captures something that connects the sins of our day. In so many cases, the basic problem is rebellion against God as Creator. Human beings are seeking to redefine what he has already defined by his creation power.

You are an atheist about all the other religions: Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Wiccan, atheist. Remember, they take their religion just as seriouly as you take yours.
@badminton Yes, they do, but that's not what he is saying. If you know a better way than Jesus, please tell us, because Jesus said he was the only one that could save us. And what some don't understand, is that religion has nothing whatsoever to do with salvation. Jesus did not come to save all religions in the world or certain groups. He came to save the whole world, not just some. Religion is described as man-made philosophy, empty of God. Religion did not die on the cross to save us from our sins. Jesus did. That's why knowing Jesus has nothing to do with religion, but a personal relationship with him.

@LadyGrace That is your religion. Fine. In America you are free to practice any religion you wish. However, you must acknowlege that others have the same right, including when they choose a different religion from your own. I'm not against religion, I'm against theocracy and intolerance.
@badminton if you had read my reply, you would see that I do not have religion. Religion is empty without God. I have a personal relationship with God, as described in the Bible.

Don't put words in my mouth. I didn't say people don't have a right to believe what they want. They most certainly do. I'm saying that Jesus said that He is the way, the truth, and the life; that no man can come to the father but by Him. Jesus is against religion because it has nothing to do with salvation. Anyone can say they have religion but do they have commitment? Even the devil believes but he's not going to heaven.

@LadyGrace -Okay, call it your beliefs, if you don't like the word religion.
Just remember: other people are free to believe differently. In the great words of the first amendment, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof".
@badminton Never said they weren't, not once.
@badminton The subject at hand, addresses the fact that we can see from this evil world today, that man chooses to sin. Atheists seem to try to blame God for what is in man's heart to do. That's avoiding responsibility. How convenient for sinners. God doesn't force people to rob banks nor kill. He doesn't force people to do evil. They assume God is the ultimate cause of sin. Another lie the devil would have us believe. We are each responsible for our own actions. And that's what atheist's hate. They claim they do not sin, but God said that anyone who says they are not a sinner, is a liar. But they don't have to worry about God, do they? They are so sure, by their own admission, there is no God, so they shouldn't worry about it, right? But you know, even the devil believes in God and trembles. Yet he won't repent, though he knows he needs to, so he won't be in heaven. His arrogance and stubbornness plus his ego, is what prevents him.

Looks like from your profile, that you support atheism, is that right?

We're not religious, not in the term you're used to hearing about.
