Do you fear death?

If so... can I ask why you still fear death?

Family responsibilities?
Other people need you?
Unfinished business?
A general fear?

I don't fear death anymore. I don't know if that's a good numb feeling to have or a bad numb feeling.

Very much so, yes. There are many things I haven’t experienced, and would like to. I also don’t feel much like I’m living life currently, just more so existing. I hope that is changed one day.

Also general endings, because then what?
JovialMoose · 51-55, M
@NewBeginnings7790 What if the general ending is "nothing."

Would that make it more or less scary?
NewBeginnings7790 · 41-45, F
@JovialMoose Not even a little, in fact the nothing is what I’m afraid of most
@NewBeginnings7790 The Bible tells us there is a heaven for us after we die, if we would like to go there. It even describes it in great detail. We don't have to be afraid. If we trust Jesus, he will be there to meet us and carry us safely home.
@JovialMoose That doesn't even make sense. How can you have an experience of nothing unless it's compared with the experience of something?
JovialMoose · 51-55, M
@PhoenixPhail Let's call it "self termination" then than "nothing."

There is nothing to experience if your self no longer exists.
@JovialMoose But your self DOES exist, and so much more. It's only your body that dies. By the way, this has nothing to do with religion.
JovialMoose · 51-55, M
@PhoenixPhail Self existence without a brain is inconceivable to me...
@JovialMoose That's understandable, since the entire scientific world believes you can't have consciousness without a brain. But the brain is a filter for consciousness, not the creator of it.
@NewBeginnings7790 But you don't have to be afraid. That was the purpose of Jesus is coming, so we wouldn't have to guess where we're going and so we can plan for that to make sure we know where we're going. Jesus is the best life insurance anyone could have. He doesn't want us to be afraid.
@JovialMoose
What if the general ending is "nothing."

That's a terrible thing to ask someone, and even suggest there is nothing after death, because we know better. Jesus didn't leave us to guess about that. That's a very scary thought and Jesus didn't want us to be afraid when we die, because he said if you prepare right now, you'll know exactly where you're going when you die and He came to prove it by His example. Jesus didn't say maybe you'll go to heaven. He told us we would definitely go to heaven if we prepare our souls and let him help us get there. When we invite Jesus into our hearts and lives as Savior, he forgives our sins and this prepares us to be with him in heaven for eternity. No guessing about it. Over 500 Witnesses saw Jesus's death and then after he rose from the dead, he stayed amongst them for days to make sure they saw that he had risen again from the dead and then they all watched him ascend into heaven, to his Heavenly Father. His mission was to show us and tell us how to get to heaven and when he was finished with that mission, he ascended back to His Father in Heaven. But of course if you don't want to believe that and take Jesus at his word, then no, you're not going to go to heaven. That's what Jesus said because we cannot walk into heaven with sin on our heels. I don't know why people don't understand why He came all the way from heaven, as if he just came for a vacation. No. He paid for our sins on the cross, because He was the only one worthy enough to do that since He is sinless, and whosoever believes in Him and accepts Him as their Savior, is guaranteed everlasting life, as well, if they will allow Him to wash away their sins by His love and grace. There's really no excuse for anyone to miss heaven unless they just refuse to believe God. We don't ever get to Heaven by our own efforts, but by taking God at His word, and by trusting in Him and His promise to save us from the condemnation that sin placed on us. God never breaks a promise

@LadyGrace why is nothing so bad?
@JovialMoose the reason nothing is bad is because it's a devil's lie. There is no such thing as nothing after we die. We either go to heaven or hell. Jesus said so. Who are we going to believe? God or man? Those who Miss heaven we'll go to hell and that's why it's so bad. There's no nightmare as bad as hell. There's not even anything that can compare to how bad hell is.
JovialMoose · 51-55, M
@LadyGrace Promising something based off of your beliefs is the devil’s lie.

There is no heaven or hell. I’m sorry to be the one to tell you it’s just like Santa clause. Heaven and Hell are a ruse for people to get something out of others.

You selling me heaven is just you trying to gain reassurance from your own anxieties. You gain everything. I gain nothing if I choose to believe or choose not to believe. It’s selfish of you.

That’s why I blocked you before. Your snake oil sales on all of the replies here are for your benefit only. Keep going and I will permanently block you.
@JovialMoose You are grossly mistaken. You're gambling with your own soul. You have no understanding that salvation is not based off of what I believe, but rather what Jesus stated in His Word, that counts. Miss that, and you have missed everything.
@JovialMoose Jesus said to believe HIM. It doesn't matter if you believe me, but you better listen to God, because nobody would know better than Him, how to get to heaven. You can block me if you want to, that won't hurt me, it will hurt God that you wouldn't listen to what HE said in His Word. If you don't listen to God, he said it is inevitable that you will not be able to carry sins into heaven, as it stands right now. So instead of being stubborn, you should listen to Jesus. I don't have to guess where I'm going because Jesus is no liar. He is incapable of error. I don't believe in man-made philosophies. I believe in the promises of Jesus and that's what gets us to heaven, whoever wants to follow him, and they will be saved as Jesus promised. Leave your soul to chance, and you'll definitely not make it to heaven and that's what Jesus said. You can either believe him or not, but this is a decision we have to make while we're still on this side of Eternity. Eternity is an awfully long time to get it wrong.
