The insistence of hate

It seems that certain Christians will insist that they are "hated".

I think this is possibly to do with the 8th Beatitude as recorded in St Matthew's gospel:-

"Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven"

Therefore to feel "hated" will increase a certain sense of "justification" - it is so (the hatred of me) because I am of the righteous, a true believer.

Just saying.

Looking back through history, many people of diverse faiths, have suffered persecution. Often, sadly, at the hands of ardent Christians.

Where is a true "righteousness"?

So your perspective is, it's self fulfilling to be heated or touted as good so therefore it's not happening?

Christians are being killed, imprisoned and discriminated against every year for their beliefs in many areas of the world.

The Biible warns that this would happen and it has, just as the Bible has prophesied about many world and celestial events that have happened.

True righteousness is in not changing, still living, still praying for a transformation of the heart of our enemies and non believers for the sake of Their Salvation.

@Iwillwait No, that is not my perspective at all. Of course people of all faiths and beliefs are being persecuted each and every day, and throughout history. Not just a particular brand of Christian.

I am simply alluding to a certain type of Christian who will insist that they are being hated when no such hate exists, this to feel "persecuted" and therefore more "justified" in being a "true" believer.

Your use of the word "enemies" really says it all.

@SW-User The Bible clearly states to pray for your enemies. Your "Enemy," can be any who wish you harm or injustice.

@Iwillwait So the words of a book are used to "justify" yourself.

@SW-User Justify myself? I'm not needing "justification," I'm needing "Redemption," and I have that through "Christ Jesus. "

You're the accuser here, spouting off about my use of the term " Enemy, " as though it's illusionary or non existent. That's just not true. We all have enemies in our lives, and we also "The enemy," in reference to satan..

@Iwillwait No, I am no accuser. You appear very desperate to "justify" yourself. There really is no need. Grace will do the trick.

All the best. Truly, sincerely (sadly, so many here seem desperate to be "accused" and "hated")

@SW-User I don't feel accused and hated, I do know that genocidal acts are happening world wide, Christiana are among many different targeted groups.

You seem very intent on labeling me as needing to be "Special," or some how a martyr. I am not.
SW-User
@Iwillwait Sorry, can we start again? I've looked back. Yes, it can be thought (quite easily) that I have "accused". Sorry. I apologise.

Some sort of explanation. I am a convinced Universalist. For me it is the only thing that makes sense of our world, as I have experienced it. We are all "one" - to begin with, in the middle, at any conceivable "end".

Therefore, no enemies. Looking as hard at myself as I can, I hate no one.

I am a vulnerable person, though becoming tougher by the day. Sadly, a couple of Christians on SW have declared that I hate, that when I have wished them well I am lying. They have - I assure you - insisted upon it.

But whatever, I apologise to you once more. Sorry.

All the best (!)
