What Does Freedom Of Religion Mean To You?

What it means to me is that we are free to worship God any way as we please as long as we do not stray from the Truth. Christianity is not a religion made by man regardless of what some may think. Our 'religion,' if you will, is acceptable to God.

27 Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

23 For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; 24 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, [d]“Take, eat; this is My body which is [e]broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” 25 In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” 1 Corinthians 11:23-25

Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” John 6:29

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 11 None of them shall teach his neighbor, and none his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. 12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins ]and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Hebrews 8:10-12

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-39

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

This is what Christianity is all about, a close relationship with God and with one another. It is not a stiff-necked religion as some would think it is. There are those stiff-necked religious people who call themselves Christians but their hearts are far from Him. Then there is us who True Believers in Christ whose hearts are after God's own heart. God has established this covenant with us before the foundations of the earth. This is what freedom of religion means to me.

All religions, including yours, are "man made". Seeking to distinguish your own conceptual formulations as being "instituted by God" is a step step toward bigotry and spiritual blindness.

I'm finished here.

All the best to you all.

You talk about spiritual blindness but you don't know what it means. Spiritual blindness is when people are blinded to the light and gospel of Christ and reject Him and His Word. Jesus said people who do that are spiritually blind and they cannot discern the truth when they see it or are told about it. People who are spiritually blind are separated from God until they repent because sin cannot enter into heaven, but thank God through the Forgiveness of our sins through jesus, we are made and placed in right standing before God once again and inherit eternal life.

The religions of this world are nothing but men made philosophy but a real relationship with Jesus Christ brings a personal relationship with him. What's so bad about that? When Moses was on the mount, God gave him the Ten Commandments. Not empty religious philosophy. You should not degrade people who believe in God, even if you don't.

@LadyGrace Thanks for your opinion.

I would say that anyone who still believes in a transcendent Being who has inspired a book in order to tell us that we have broken His laws and that the penalty is eternal torment UNLESS we believe that he has incarnated on earth 2000 years ago and died on the cross for those sins, and those who believe such have "spiritual sight" while those who do not will suffer eternally, are indoctrinated beyond human hope.

Such is OBVIOUSLY mythic in essence. Such is no longer credible to thinking people. All the worlds faiths deal with the issues being addressed, but in various ways.

Many present day Christians are recognising this. Such people are NOT drifting from the "true" faith, they are discovering the true faith, which has no beginning or end.

All the best.

I am now finished with this Forum. I took a three day break and felt better for it. Coming back was a mistake.

I will close my account.

@SW-User well that's a natural response when you don't know or have all the facts and believe false information. I don't know where you think your soul will go or how you get to heaven without the Lord's help but I respect your decision and opinion and we'll just have to agree to disagree.

@LadyGrace "False information" is not just that which others suffer from.

My main point - totally missed as usual by those constantly congratulating themselves on having deep insight and the guidance of the spirit, being the "true" Christians - is that "the Lords help" can come in infinite ways beyond our own conceptual formulations and beliefs.

All the best
@SW-User you know you're so busy and bitter pointing fingers at Christians and their beliefs, you can't see the tree for the forest. Again false accusations and finger pointing at Christians. I'm not surprised. And of course the usual fake "all the best", when you don't even mean it but are being sarcastic. 🙄

@SW-User Just to add, the Forum referenced is very quiet (to say the least.....😀) but is accessed by many who read the back catalogue of threads.

One such, on the Tao te Ching, in the "Other Wisdom Traditions" section, had been viewed over 27 thousand times.

Again, my Google blog:-

I would say that making fun of our Bible, when your Quran leaves a lot to be desired, and as you can see below, offers no real hope, shows no love and especially offers no peace, compared to God's Word. Let's do compare. Especially notice [c=BF0000]Koran 8:12 and Koran 9:5:[/c]

[c=BF0000]You make fun of my God and God's Word, TelegraphSam, but now we have the real truth. Your Quran offers no love, no peace, no joy. Just violent rules and hatred of others not a part of your group.[/c]

That is one of Satan's religions.

@LadyGrace You literally just didn’t act out of Christ’s love. Such hypocrisy. Simple woman.
