Would you say your faith is a solid thing or would you say sometimes it's strong and sometimes it's weak??

The thread of it remains throughout life.

The more dependent that you are on God, for me, the less wavering my Faith is. I know also my Faith does not rely on me since it is the Holy Spirit that sealed me.

From east and west, the realisation that it is the "strength" of Realities "grasp" of us that never wavers.

From the pen of Shinran, from "Hymns of the Pure Land Masters", verse 95......

I cannot perceive the light that grasps me;
Yet the great compassion, without tiring,

And for theists, from Julian of Norwich:-

My belief in God is Rock solid...

I do not base my faith in God upon my worthyness or unworthyness.. It's not about me.. It is about Him..

We have an anchor
To keep the soul
Steadfast and sure
While the billows roll
Fastened to the rock
Which cannot move
Grounded firm and deep
In the saviour's love


I'm not religious anymore but I love the imagery of this hymn and I think it applies here in that your faith can waver but will never be lost - and I've just realised how ironic that is.

Rise and fall- we must remember that idolatory isn't just about other Gods.

its solid, as in my beliefs. What I feel I ought to be doing, not so much....

it definitely wavers for me.
